Change/Program managementThere is a belief that we are all inherently resist change. This couldn't be further from the truth - the example of how we have adapted to the use of mobile phones by all levels of society shows us all receptive to change. What we are is resistant to being changed! Once we know what we are dealing with and WIIFM, then we will accept all change that comes our way. This is fundamental to how we work with people in implementing Lean Programs.
The Chairman of Toyota once said, "Go See, Ask Why and Show Respect". Putting all three elements together ensures that you will be able to instigate the necessary changes. At the start of every program we work out with the client what are the likely rewards from the program and agree what will be done with these rewards. This is key to the longevity of every program. We can put together a working program where we "think big and start small" so that we don't try to impose change but rather we implement a program that is endorsed by all effected.
